Every now and then I go and check out Charlotte restaurants and share my experience. This isn’t directly in Charlotte but it’s in our region. This past Saturday I visit an Indian restaurant that I wanted to type because oddly, I was missing the food from overseas I had when I was deployed. I’m going to share my experience from my personal views and maybe you’ll want to go and check them out too!
Location
The physical address for Persis Indian Grill is 1504 Carolina Pl, Fort Mill SC. It is located right off of Highway 77, the same exit as LPL Financial. If you’re coming from Charlotte towards Fort Mill it is literally the first right after you get off the highway. The location wasn’t hard to find and it was right in front of Lowe’s. It is located in a shopping center but there is plenty of parking for the customers.
Atmosphere
Walking into the restaurant you can smell the Indian herbs! This is also a bar so it had a bar/family factory feel with the brown earth tone decor with interior red brick siding… it gives you a PUB filling. There’s a mixture of booths, half booths, and standalone table seating. I really like the wine display even though I don’t drink but it was a good add-on to the space along with the TVs playing sports. This is definitely a family restaurant because they do have plenty of accommodations for children. Even a small sink for the children to wash their hands in the bathrooms. Bathrooms were clean, nothing super special but they were not dirty and that’s a plus in any type of bar-like restaurant.
Customer Service
I visited this restaurant around about 1:45 in the afternoon, so when I arrived I was seated immediately. They did make sure that I was within 6 feet of distance because that is the law. I will say once I sit down I waited a little bit before someone came to me and asked me what I wanted to eat or to offer me a drink. I probably wouldn’t have noticed it if I didn’t notice that the family that came in after me that drinks first. But it wasn’t shortly after that the lady at the bar came and brought me water and asked me would I like any additional beverages. By this time I was ready to order and she was extremely helpful with picking out what I wanted to order. She advised me on what was the most popular dish and was patient with me. She also advises other items on the menu that goes with the main entrée that people usually order with (Naan bread). Once the order was placed they brought a plate and utensils. I did wait about 17 minutes before I got my food. They checked on me while I was eating and the bartender was just extremely helpful so her customer service was excellent to me. I wanted to order a dessert but I did not know what I want to order so she helped me out and she even pulled out her phone to show me a picture of one of the items. Although she was busy she really did her best looking after her tables. Overall her customer service is really good.
Food Quality
The food was amazing! I was having “nostalgic moments” eating this food. It reminded me of those days in the chow hall on deployment in Afghanistan the nights that they will cook Indian food. I ordered Chicken Tikka Masala which came with rice. I also ordered garlic butter Naan bread, I mean you can’t go to an Indian restaurant and not get Naan. Everything tasted so good and there are no complaints about it. It was real authentic Indian food and it was not Americanized at all! GOOD authentic Indian food and I cannot stress that enough. They also offer vegan options. I ordered a dessert that I have never tried before and it was good. It was a little bit too sweet for me but the waiter did say that it was super sweet. I ordered Gulab Jamun. To describe it, it was like the grade school Super Donuts we used to get in a light syrup. It’s served to you warm in a small bowl with a spoon. It didn’t taste bad at all but personally, it was too sweet for me. But it wasn’t bad. So overall the food was amazing and I was so glad that I chose this restaurant.
Cost
The cost wasn’t bad at all. The average entrée on their menu was about $15 and no add-on that I saw was over five dollars. I did order additional rice to go and it was only $.99. With my entree, naan bread, and dessert, I only spent about $25. In my opinion, it wasn’t that expensive and totally affordable.
Overall Review
Overall review (from my personal experience) the food was great. Not a hard place to find, literally off the highway. I enjoy the atmosphere and I enjoyed the customer service. This is a place that I will be visiting again and I will say that I have already told a few people about it already and it hasn’t even been 12 hours! Hahaha. If you decide to visit, tell them I sent you!
Big Question…. would I recommend this restaurant?
YES! And I will be back lol
