Imagine being a 12 year old girl who worked very hard in school to maintain her grades, keep a smile on her face, and to always be polite. Imagine everyday when the school bus rode off taking the time to wave bye to everyone and watch the bus ride off. But it wasn’t because I was a friendly kid. I was pleasant as a child but it wasn’t the reason. I didn’t want anyone to see me walk through the neighborhood of nice homes to a trailer that I was ashamed of. We moved a lot when I was younger. but it seemed like every move was a step closer to the bottom. For a long time, I didnt even believe the top was possible. So I made it a goal in life to make sure that I saved enough money and I worked hard enough to be able to afford a home for my children that they wouldn’t have to be ashamed of. In June of 2020, I set out on a hunt for a new home. When I met Alexis, I gave her very specific instructions on hat I needed but it seemed like what I wanted was just not in budget. So after looking at home after home we finally found the perfect home for my budget. Even with all that, it wasn’t until later during the process my realtor…saved my life. When purchasing a new home, the process can be very long and tiring. There were months of wait followed by many nights of doubt. I remember at one time completely freaking out because it seemed like no matter what I did, I would never be able to reach the dream of homeownership. All those feelings that I had as a child began to rear their ugly head and I felt like I had not only let myself down but my children down as well. I didn’t think I was ever going to be ale to work through the overwhelming stack of paperwork the underwriting team required for this home. Alexis, spent late nights and early mornings taking the time to go in detail to make sure that I understood every process and to reassure me that even if this home didn’t work out, we would find the perfect one that did. She made sure I understood all the real estate lingo and I was confident with everything I signed. I close on my home in just a few days. Alexis posed a question about what’s stopping people from purchasing a home. I quickly responded and after that she wrote me then called me and educated me on different things I had no clue about when it came to Mortgage and credit!
